Fishing Classes

Surf Fishing
Ages 12 and up

This is the perfect class for fishermen who want to learn where to cast their line to catch the fish running in the surf. Learn how to locate sand bars, deep holes and ledges in order to find out where the catch of the day is hanging out.

Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m.

Cost: $15 per person

Limit: 8 (no minimum class size)

Family Fishing
All Ages

Learn the basic skills necessary to catch a fish. Topics covered in the program include species that are commonly found around the pier, a lesson on fish identification, how to cast and tie your rigs as well as catch and release techniques.

Fridays and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m.

Cost: $15 per person ($8 age 5 and under) or $20 with all day fishing pass

Limit: 12 (minimum class size 4)

Fishing Pro Lessons
Ages 12 and up

Fishing is catching with one of the pier’s seasoned anglers. Join an instructor for one on one fishing lessons Mondays thru Fridays. Lessons are two hour sessions and topics include learning how to target trout, drum and stripers.

Cost: $45 individual; $70 couple, includes all day fishing pass

Limit: 8 (no minimum class size)

Catch-it, Clean-it, Cook-it
Ages 12 and up

In this class you will learn how to catch fish, clean them and cook them. Join expert angler and avid fisherman Charlie Brewer for an enjoyable morning of fishing followed by a cooking lesson where you will prepare your fish just in time for lunch.

Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon

Cost: $30 per person, includes all day

Science and Exploration Classes

After “School” Anglers
Ages 5 and up

Learn the basic skills necessary to catch a fish. Topics covered in the program will include species that are commonly found around the pier, a lesson on fish identification, how to cast and tie your rigs as well as catch and release techniques.  Students will also learn about the biology of by dissecting a bony fish, followed by making their own fish print T-shirt.

Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Cost: $20 per person

Limit: 10 (minimum class size 4)

Marine Creatures Camp
Ages 6 and up

Students will work with pier educators to discover the habitats and lives of creatures that live in the ocean. The focus for this camp will be discovery, dissection of squid and the life of a blue crab. Campers will enjoy a hands-on learning experience during this day long camp.

Monday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost: $20 per person

Limit: 10 (minimum class size 4)

Marine Crafts*
All ages

Bring the little ones to enjoy crafts, children’s stories and to learn about animals in the marine ecosystem. Each week will have a different theme

Feb. 2, 9, and 23 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Cost: $5 per child
Limit: 20

Special Programs

Ocean Treasures Jewelry
All ages

Join Lulu to learn new techniques including beading and wire wrapping to create bracelets, necklaces and more.  Bring your own beach treasure from home and learn to create functional art from found objects.

Saturdays Feb. 11 and 25 from

10 a.m. to noon

Cost: $15 per person

Limit: 10 (minimum class size 4)

Birthday Parties
Ages: 4 to 12

Birthday party package: two-hour party with take-home arts-n-crafts, a choice of one of our education programs, decorations, tables, chairs and an area for refreshments. Refreshments are not provided by the pier and balloons are not allowed at pier parties.

Cost: $200

Includes up to 12 children and 12 adults $10 for each additional child

Limit: 20 children ($10 for each additional child)

Seaside Slumber Parties
Ages: 5 and up

How much will this cost?

Minimum of 12 people, or the equivalent fee of $500
Maximum of 20 Children ($25 each addition child)

*A non-refundable $50 deposit is required upon scheduling an overnight program.

Creatures of the night – look for animal tracks and go ghost crabbing
Movie Night – watch a movie of your choice on our HUGE movie screen
Arts n Crafts – learn about marine organisms then create your own craft
Tie Dye – learn to tie dye and create funky shirts that are fun to wear around-Ocean Jeopardy – Interactive Game on Variety of Topics – Usually played in teams
Fish Printing – Painting Craft – we provide a t-shirt to make a souvenir!
