| White
Marlin
Although much smaller than the related blue marlin,
the White Marlin is eagerly pursued by anglers for its
spectacular fighting abilities. Highly migratory, these
fish move south in the fall and north in the spring
seeking food and warm waters.
The state record weighing 118 lbs. was caught by Ethel
B.
Cootes off Oregon Inlet in 1976.
