Sailfish
The streamlined Sailfish is famed for its spectacular
high-speed runs. Pods of these fish have been observed
using their fins as a wall to keep schools of bait fish
confined. When not in use, the fin folds flat into a
groove down the back of the fish’s body.
The record catch weighing 100 lbs. was taken by John
P. Grooms, Jr. at Ocean Isle in 1987.
