Pinfish

This abundant member of the porgy family may be small, but is popular with many anglers. Pinfish feed on worms and small crabs, and are themselves sometimes used as bait for larger species.

Defending the state record is the 2 lb. 11 oz. catch by Kevin R. Valla from Beaufort Inlet in 2002.
