When Bluefish are actively feeding, nearly any object in the water is fair game, including swimmers. Their strong jaws and sharp teeth can inflict vicious bites.

North Carolina’s 31 lb. 12 oz. state record doubles as a world all-tackle record, and was taken by James Hussey at Cape Hatteras in 1972.
