Summer sun, fishing fun
The staff has been busy all winter making pier improvements and planning unique educational opportunities for all ages. As the ocean temperature slowly climbs to the upper 50s and lower 60s, catches of speckled trout, croaker, bluefish and sea mullet continue to keep anglers reeling.
If you’re new to fishing, check out the pier’s Family Fishing class offered most week days at 9 a.m. Seasoned instructors help you land the catch of the day. The two-hour session covers the basics, and all required gear is included. Advanced classes are available, too. Day camps, focusing on fishing, surfing and science for residents and visitors alike, are also offered in June, July and August.
Be sure to check out the beach scene this summer, when Jennette’s hosts a variety of special events, including surf, kayak and volleyball competitions. With plenty of sun, surf and sand, the clean, wide-open beaches have become a mecca for the fun-loving public. |
